Dallas spent the next 26 years advising his clients on agronomy, pest management, weather forecasting and reporting for potato production.

In addition to his love for agriculture, his love for his family was equally as profound. Dallas was married to his wife, Hazel for 47 years. Together they raised three daughters, Michelle, Lleonia and Christina who all embody their parent’s passion for life and hard work.
Dallas had a love and affinity for gardening, fishing, listening to bluegrass music and spending time with his feline friends Rupert and Gulliver.
Though Dr. Batchelor’s academic achievements had tremendous influence on university scientists, the federal system and county extensions, he is also known for the intense personal relationships he has developed within the industry.
Dallas’s raucous rapport added to his ability to teach, encourage and mentor growers of the current generation.
Dallas Batchelor was presented with the 2011 Industry Leadership Award for the Washington State Potato Foundation. The WSPF is honored to sponsor this incredible scholarship in his name.
